Berean Outreach Ministry Center (BOMC)
The Berean Outreach Ministries Center (BOMC) is a multi-purpose facility operated by the Atlanta Berean Seventh-Day Adventist Church. It’s mission is to serve the community following the method of Jesus through ministries of compassion in His name as described in Luke 4:16-21.
Berean Outreach Ministry Center is a day center, serving the basic needs of the Atlanta community. The BOMC provides meals, massage therapy, salon, barber, and clothing services to approximately 400 people each day. Volunteer opportunities include: greeting services, clothing center and food services. Volunteers meet the last Saturday each month from 11:00AM – 2:00PM.
2012 Accomplishments:
• Fed approximately 800 families per week.
• Distributed more than 20,000 lbs of food each week.
• Distributed 1.2 Million pounds of food to Atlanta community for the entire year.
• Featured in a Dec 2012 ABC News documentary that was done here in Atlanta for national showing.
2013 Accomplishments:
• Adopted feeding refugees from Burma who are now located in Stockton, GA.
• Planned distribution of 100 mattresses for these refuges (most of which are Seventh-day Adventist Christians).
• Featured in a North American Division article / video for the success of the program as a model throughout the country.
The BOMC Food Bank resides under the Berean SDA Church Community Service Organization which is headed by Elder Irene Bowden and she is assisted by Bro. David Riley. Hundreds of individuals have accepted Christ and been baptized due to the ministry of the BOMC.
